Greetings.
I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft.
An Ender Chest is extremely useful when I go exploring or work somewhere far from the base.
Because the contents are linked between Ender Chests, it feels almost like a four-dimensional pocket.
Now, if I break an Ender Chest with an ordinary pickaxe, it drops as obsidian.
When I want to collect it as an Ender Chest, I break it with a Silk Touch pickaxe.
This time, I took an Ender Chest into the mineshaft, moved items into it, and then tried to bring it home by breaking it with a Silk Touch pickaxe.
For some reason, I obtained both the Ender Chest and eight obsidian blocks at the same time.
Wait.
Is this a bug?
This happened in Minecraft PE v1.2.8 on Android.
Is the Ender Chest a Convenient Way to Multiply Obsidian?
Last time, I moved the enormous amount of loot from the huge mineshaft back to my base.
The mule helped, and somehow the transport was completed.
One of the stars of that job was the Ender Chest.
I emptied it beforehand, moved items into it at the mineshaft, and then retrieved the items from the Ender Chest back at the base.
It really is convenient.

As mentioned earlier, when I broke that Ender Chest with a Silk Touch pickaxe, obsidian somehow dropped as well.
If this works reliably, could I collect a huge amount of obsidian very easily?
### A Simple Way to Get Obsidian, Maybe
So I decided to test it right away.

I placed the Ender Chest and prepared the Silk Touch pickaxe.
Now all I had to do was break it.

And then, strangely enough, eight pieces of obsidian appeared as items in addition to the Ender Chest.

Just placing and breaking the Ender Chest gave me eight pieces of obsidian.
After doing the work for a little while, I was able to collect about two stacks fairly quickly.
Obsidian takes time to mine when I want it, and making it from lava is also troublesome.
I had been thinking about using obsidian as a building material too, so this was very convenient.
Still…
Yes, this is probably a bug.
That is all for this time.
Greetings.
