Greetings.
I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft.
At last, the day had come for my battle with the Wither.
The Wither was said to be an exceptionally powerful enemy, second only to the Ender Dragon. The Nether Star it dropped was a rare item needed to make a Beacon.
I was honestly rather frightened, but I wanted that Nether Star. It was time to fight.
Preparing for the Wither battle
Last time, I collected seven Wither Skeleton Skulls at a Nether Fortress.
The hunt had gone more smoothly than expected because the fortress contained so many Wither Skeletons.

I gathered the Soul Sand and three Wither Skeleton Skulls needed for the summoning. I also brewed Potions of Strength, Healing, and Night Vision, then checked my equipment.

Once everything was ready, I headed to a cave some distance from the village. Letting the Wither rampage across the surface sounded like a terrible idea, so I chose to fight underground.

I placed a bed nearby as a temporary base in case I died. Naturally, defeating it without dying would have been preferable.

From the temporary base, I dug farther into the wall and made a narrow chamber surrounded by stone. My plan was to attack while the Wither had little room to move.
### The Wither battle begins

I arranged the Soul Sand and prepared to place the three skulls across the top.

Because the Wither explodes when it appears, I placed only two skulls at first and drank my potions.
Then came the third skull. My first Wither battle was about to begin.

The achievement appeared, but this was no time to celebrate. I had to get away before the explosion.

As soon as the blast ended, I rushed forward. Unfortunately, there was a large cave behind the chamber, and the Wither had escaped into it.
This was the only photograph in which I managed to capture the Wither. After that, I had no room to think about screenshots.

The Wither floated around and attacked from a distance, making the fight in such a large space exhausting.

I fought back with a bow and reduced its health by half, but the relentless attacks eventually killed me.
The flying skulls hit hard and caused the Wither effect. My hearts became difficult to read while my health continued to drain, and my Healing Potions soon ran out.
After returning for my equipment, I closed the distance and attacked with my sword. Once its health fell below half, my arrows no longer worked. It was terrifying.
I became completely absorbed in the fight and somehow defeated it. At almost the same moment, however, the Wither effect killed me as well.

When I returned, the cave had become an enormous hole.
I had fought the Wither for one reason: to collect its Nether Star. I searched the place where it had fallen, but the star was nowhere to be found.
I believed a Nether Star would neither despawn nor be destroyed by an explosion, yet no matter how long I searched, I could not find it.
After working so hard to win, this was painful. I think I have had enough of the Wither for a while.
That is all for this time.
Greetings.
