I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
I had started thinking about filling in the maps of the Overworld.
There was just one familiar Minecraft problem: I did not have enough gunpowder to make firework rockets.
To make future adventures easier, I decided to build a farm for the mob that drops gunpowder.
A sky creeper farm would be a major project, but if it worked, I could collect gunpowder simply by waiting.
Building a sky creeper farm for a large supply of gunpowder
After testing my full netherite gear in a Nether fortress, it was time to return to exploring the Overworld.
I followed a Japanese build that placed the farm high above the ocean.
The list of materials was enormous: scaffolding, hoppers, campfires, water buckets, buttons, trapdoors, glass, and well over a thousand blocks for the floors and roof.
I gathered the missing items and packed everything into shulker boxes.
The eastern ocean seemed like a good place, so I flew out to find an open stretch of water.
I was excited by the thought of endless gunpowder, but I also remembered the many contraptions that had refused to work for me before.
I chose a site east of the village and began building upward.
The waiting area went one hundred blocks above the water.
Working at that height made me restless.
Next came the collection chests.
Campfires formed the processing layer.
Then I started the spawning floors.
I had brought whatever blocks I could find, so the structure became a colorful mixture.
Water channels would carry the creepers toward the drop.
The trapdoors and buttons were arranged to allow creepers to spawn while keeping other mobs out.
It was an impressive design.
After five spawning layers and a roof, the farm was complete.
Building so high in the air had been tiring, but seeing the finished tower felt wonderful.
### Does the sky creeper farm actually work?
I checked it immediately.
With the campfires extinguished, a creeper soon dropped into the chamber.
That looked promising.
I relit the campfires and waited.
After about two hours, it was time to inspect the result.
Amazing!
I had remained slightly doubtful until I saw the chest, but this was more than enough gunpowder.
Now I could continue my adventures without constantly worrying about firework rockets.
