Greetings.
I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft.

Season 3 has not been gentle.

I have been chased by spiders, blown up by a creeper, and defeated before I can even feel settled.
This time, I want to escape the endless You Died screen.

The suited man standing on leaves after respawning

The view is good.
That part is true.

But I am on a tree again.
And below the tree, the world is still dangerous.

Starting From Last Time

Episode 3 begins with this.

The death screen at the start of Episode 3

Another death screen.

I am getting used to it, which is not a good thing (laughs)

I still want to recover what I dropped last time.
But first, I need to check below.

A creeper visible under the tree

There it is.

A creeper.

Minecraft is very clear about its warnings.
It says, "Do not come down carelessly."

Gathering Wood on the Tree

Since going down is scary, I look for what I can do from above.

Looking through leaves toward a tree trunk

There is a trunk below the leaves.

If I can reach it, I can get logs without stepping onto the ground.
This feels like a small victory already.

The suited man lowering himself into the leaves

I go down into the leaves.

Not the ground.
Just the leaves.

Even this is a little frightening.

Recovering the first oak log on the tree

I got a log!

Only one log, yes.
But in this world, one log feels like treasure.

I keep working carefully.

Four oak logs secured while staying on the tree

Four logs.

This is huge.
It feels like I finally have enough to do something.

A Crafting Table on the Tree Again

I make planks and place a crafting table.

A crafting table placed beside a tree trunk

A crafting table.

The location is strange, but it works.
At this point, "works" is enough.

Then I make wooden tools.

Wooden tools lined up in the hotbar

Oh.

This looks like progress.

A wooden axe.
A wooden pickaxe.
A wooden shovel.

The hotbar suddenly looks like a Minecraft hotbar.
I may be growing.

I Went Down, and There It Was

With tools ready, I finally decide to descend.

And then…

Defeated by a zombie after coming down from the tree

I died.

There was a zombie where I came down.

All those tools.
All that careful work.

Gone from my hand in an instant.

This is hard.
Very hard.

I Want Them Back, But I Am Scared

I respawn again.

Respawning again after the zombie death

The dropped items should still be nearby.

The wooden axe.
The wooden pickaxe.
The shovel.

I want them back.
Of course I do.

But wanting and reaching are different things in this forest.

Defeated by a spider while trying to recover items

Another spider.

Again.

The forest keeps teaching me the same lesson.
Tools are important, but safety is more important.

Leaving the Forest

At some point, I stop trying to fight the forest head-on.

I move away.

Standing on the ground away from the forest with empty hands

Finally, I am standing on the ground in a slightly open place.

Empty-handed.

No tools.
No crafting table.
No apple.

Still, I am on the ground.
That alone feels like progress today.

Digging Dirt by Hand

I need somewhere to hide.

So I begin to dig.

By hand.

Digging a slope by hand to make a shelter

It is primitive.

Very primitive.

But if I cannot keep tools, then my hands will have to do the work.

I dig into the slope, one block at a time.

A Side Hole, Completed… Maybe

After a little work, I get inside.

Inside the hand-dug dirt shelter

Dark.

Narrow.

But it is a space.
A place that feels a little like mine.

I block the entrance with dirt.

The dirt shelter entrance sealed with dirt

There.

Closed.

For a moment, I think this might be enough.

It was not.

Defeated again even after making the dirt shelter

Again.

I died again.

Apparently a shelter is not finished just because the entrance is blocked.
It needs light.
It needs space.
It needs a safer shape.

I learned that the hard way.

Still Not Finished

Morning comes with rain.

Standing in the rain with only dirt and leaves

No wooden tools.
No crafting table.

Only dirt and leaves.

It is a sad inventory, but it is not nothing.
If I can hold dirt, I can still build something.

Then, once more…

Defeated by another spider after the failed shelter

A spider.

Again, a spider.

At this point, I almost want to greet them by name.

Respawning empty-handed on a rainy night

Empty hands.
Full health.
Back on a tree.

It is a reset, but not completely.

I understand a little more now.
I need a real shelter.
I need tools.
And most of all, I need light.

Next Time, Light

This time, I made progress and lost it.

I gathered logs.
I made tools.
I came down.
I dug a dirt shelter.
And I learned that a dark shelter is not a safe shelter.

Next time, I want to make a better hole.
I want stone.
I want coal.
And I want torches.

The You Died loop is not over yet.
But I think I am beginning to understand what I need to escape it.

That is all for this time.
Greetings.
