I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft.
While building up the village, I began wanting more space.
So last time, I started clearing land to expand the village grounds.
The area I am working on is a forest with uneven ground.
Last time, I cut down the trees in the expansion area.
This time, I will continue the second half of the job by digging out the dirt and stone underneath.
Leveling the Area After Cutting the Trees
Last time, I cleared the trees from the area I wanted to use for village expansion.
Using an enchanted axe made the work very comfortable.
Now I need to remove the height differences in this part of the forest.
That means the real leveling work begins.
Making an Enchanted Shovel for the Job
Before starting, I made a proper tool.
I crafted a diamond shovel and enchanted it.
The level-three option was Unbreaking III, but Fortune III and Efficiency IV came with it.
I do not use Fortune on a shovel very often, but Efficiency IV is lovely.
When I tried digging dirt with it, I was surprised.
Efficiency IV is powerful.
The dirt breaks as if I were slicing through tofu.
It is so fast that breaking only one block becomes difficult.
Digging, Breaking, and Enjoying the Leveling Work
As I started leveling the area, I found that the forest ground was not only dirt.
Stone was packed underneath too.
Both the shovel and pickaxe have efficiency enchantments, so the work moves along smoothly.
I did not expect flattening land to be this fun.
For someone who used to make piles of stone shovels and dig slowly, this is full of surprises.
The inventory filled up almost immediately.
An Efficiency IV diamond shovel is frighteningly good.
That said, the area I need to level is still quite large.
First, I dug one straight line to make the work area clear.
After that, all that remained was to dig with enthusiasm.
While doing all of this, I unlocked an achievement for collecting lots of cobblestone.
I really did dig through plenty of stone as well as dirt this time.
In the end, I was able to expand the village grounds like this.
It took a fair amount of time, but the enchanted tools made the work much more efficient.
Leveling land is fun.
This suited man has discovered a new kind of joy.
