Greetings.
I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft.
Enchantments are one of the things that help me live more conveniently, and a little more strongly, in Minecraft.
Among them, the two I had been dreaming of in OjiCra were Infinity and Mending.
I had already found Infinity through enchanted books, the enchanting table, and librarian trades.
Mending, however, had still not come my way.
Since Mending cannot be obtained from the enchanting table, I had to find it from an enchanted book or through a librarian trade.
That makes it a difficult one to get.
Then, while fishing during a short break, I finally caught an enchanted book with Mending on it.
I was so happy that I immediately put it on the pickaxe I use most often.
And then, about five minutes later, I lost that pickaxe.
Please read the story of how I lost my Mending pickaxe.
It may require a handkerchief.
Fishing During Small Breaks Can Bring Treasure
Fishing in Minecraft is a nice thing to do when I only have a little time.

You can stop whenever you need to, and with a fishing rod enchanted with Luck of the Sea and Lure, even a short session can bring treasure.
I already have plenty of saddles, so catching another one does not make me very excited anymore.
What I am aiming for is an enchanted book.
When I see that little sparkle coming toward the float, my heart jumps.
As usual, the treasure was mostly saddles, and I was starting to lose hope.
Then, right after yet another saddle, an enchanted book came up.
And it had Mending.
The Mending book I had been dreaming about was finally in my hands.
I was far too happy to wait, so I went straight back to the village to put it on a tool.

Adding Mending to the Diamond Pickaxe I Use the Most
For the first Mending enchantment in OjiCra, I chose a diamond pickaxe.
For this man in a suit, who loves cave exploration more than almost anything, the pickaxe is the tool I use most.

The pickaxe already had Fortune III, Unbreaking III, and Efficiency IV.
Now Mending was added too.
It became a very fine pickaxe indeed.
Tsuru-san, my beloved pickaxe.
Please work hard from now on.
I Went to the Blaze Spawner to Repair It With Experience, But…
Tsuru-san’s durability was already low, with the bar nearly red.
That is where Mending should shine.
It uses experience to repair durability.
For experience, OjiCra has been using a Blaze spawner in the Nether.

So I took Tsuru-san, hurried into the Nether, and rode the Nether railway straight to the Blaze spawner.

And then…
Well.
This is the situation.
I am rushing back to the Blaze spawner room with nothing in my hands.
My favorite weapons and tools are gone.
Of course, Tsuru-san, the pickaxe I had just given Mending, is gone too.
Why did this happen?
I fell from a high place and died.
In the PE version, only up to four Blazes would spawn at once, so while waiting for them, I stepped out above the spawner room to collect Nether quartz.

And this was the result.
There was a one-block hole just before the Nether quartz.
I fell from a very high place.

I hurried back, so I was able to recover most of the items.
But the one thing I cared about most was missing.
Yes.
I lost the diamond pickaxe with Mending.
Tsuru-san disappeared without repairing itself even once.
If I had landed just a little differently, it would have been a total loss, so perhaps I should say it could have been worse.
Still, I never thought I would lose the Mending enchantment I wanted so badly before seeing it work even once.
May I find it again someday.
That is all for this time.
Greetings.
