It was a long way around, but it is all connected.
Strengthening Gear at the Enchanting Table and Anvil
With the Mending book found, the next step is rebuilding my gear.
I went to the enchanting table surrounded by bookshelves.
This is where I spend the experience I saved up.

Without the XP farm from last time, I would not be able to try this so comfortably.
I feel slightly sorry for the zombies, but they helped me quite a lot.
After using the enchanting table, I moved to the anvil.
Now I add Mending to the gear.
The experience level keeps going down.
But this is a necessary cost.
It is part of preparing to return to that red world after losing everything once.
When gear is enchanted, even the item in my hand looks different.
It is glowing.
The diamond sword is properly glowing.
That purple glint makes me feel a little stronger just by looking at it.
Of course, if I get carried away, I will probably fall into lava again.
I really need to remember that.

The enchantment names are shown in English on the screen.
The diamond sword has Sharpness V, Looting III, Unbreaking III, and Mending.

But stronger gear does not suddenly make my hands better at Minecraft.
