Greetings.
I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft.
Lately, I have been building homes to help the village grow.
That has also meant more villagers.
Among the villagers, librarians are especially useful because they trade enchanted books.
But there are other villagers wearing similar white clothes too.
This time, I met one of them: a cartographer.
A cartographer can trade two exciting maps, a woodland explorer map and an ocean explorer map.
I set out with a woodland explorer map in hand, hoping to find a woodland mansion.
And, well.
That trip became far rougher than expected.
Trading With a Cartographer for Explorer Maps
I had been spending my days working on the village.
But when I keep building in one place, I start wanting to go out and explore.

One day, I saw a villager who looked like a librarian, so I tried talking to him and inviting him into the shop.
It turned out he was not a librarian, but a cartographer.
When I checked his trades, I found something called an explorer map.
Explorer map.
That name alone is enough to light a fire in an old man’s heart.

There were two kinds: a woodland explorer map and an ocean explorer map.
Naturally, I traded for both.
The plan was simple.
Take the map, go exploring, and find something wonderful.
The woodland explorer map points toward a woodland mansion, while the ocean explorer map points toward an ocean monument.
The ocean monument still felt a little too difficult, so I decided to aim for the woodland mansion first.
### Heading for the Woodland Mansion With the Map in Hand

When I opened the woodland explorer map, there was a little house-shaped icon in the middle.
I held the map in my left hand, got on my mule, and started toward the woodland mansion.

I kept checking the direction on the map as I traveled.
But no matter how far I went, the little marker showing my position did not seem to move inside the map.
I passed through several biomes and still saw no change.
This was going to be a long trip.

At one point, the ocean spread out in front of me.
So I put the mule on a lead and walked across the water with Frost Walker.
Frost Walker is extremely helpful on a journey like this.

After all that, I unlocked the achievement for walking across water.
Then night began to fall over the ocean.
I found a tiny island and tried to sleep in a bed there.
At that exact moment, a creeper decided to explode.
And my beloved mule was gone.
That hurt.
It hurt very much.

After losing the mule, my spirit was completely crushed.
I decided to give up and head back toward base.
On the way, I found a desert temple.

Maybe treasure would cheer me up a little.
So I went inside.
But something about this temple felt different from the usual ones.

When I looked down into the place where the treasure should have been, there was nothing.
Nothing at all.
I do not remember coming here before, so perhaps this sort of thing just happens sometimes.
First I lost my mule.
Then I found a desert temple with no treasure.
That is a rather complete set of bad luck.
After that, I trudged all the way home with my shoulders hanging low.
That is all for this time.
Greetings.
