I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft.
After defeating the Ender Dragon, I found an End city and End ship and returned with several rare items.
This time, I am using the Shulker Shells from that expedition to make Shulker Boxes.
Shulker Shells from the End city
The shells came from the Shulkers I fought inside the End city.
Shulkers were troublesome enemies. Their guided projectiles made me float, which was especially frightening inside a tall city above the void. Still, the reward was worth it.
Crafting and testing a Shulker Box
I crafted a Shulker Box with two Shulker Shells and one chest.
Like a chest, it could store items. The important difference was that the items remained inside even after the box itself was broken and picked up.
I opened it first. The lid rotated as it moved, which was oddly satisfying to watch.
For a test, I placed a bucket inside and then broke the box.
The bucket did not spill onto the ground. It stayed safely inside.
Once collected, the box showed that it still contained an item. Portable storage like this felt almost too convenient.
There was one danger: if I lost the Shulker Box, I would lose everything stored inside it as well. Keeping important boxes in an Ender Chest until they were needed seemed safer.
Shulker Boxes could also be dyed, making it possible to separate different kinds of supplies by color.
I made four boxes in total. They were useful, colorful, and surprisingly good as decoration. I had a feeling they would become part of many future journeys.
