I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft PE.
At last, I had found a biome I had never visited before.
It was an Ice Plains biome!
Filling nearby maps had revealed nothing, so I decided to fly east with the Elytra for as long as I could. That change of plan finally led me to an unfamiliar landscape.
There was an Igloo, a Polar Bear, and an entire world covered in white. The suited man was very excited indeed.
Resuming the rare-biome search with my recovered Elytra
After so much confusion and searching, my precious Elytra was finally back.
I considered returning to ordinary map filling, but the surrounding regions had produced no rare biomes. This time, I would choose one direction and fly as far as the Elytra allowed.
I chose east. The plan was to travel until the Elytra durability reached about half, then turn back toward the village.
### Gliding east as far as possible
I still carried a map even though I was no longer filling it in neat rows. It helped me keep track of direction and would make the route easier to understand later.
Deserts, mountains, swamps, and a vast ocean passed below me.
I was searching for a Mesa, Ice Plains, or Mushroom Island, but the world continued to show me familiar terrain.
I began to think the outward journey would end without a discovery.
Then I saw it.
An Ice Plains biome!
The cold white landscape was unmistakable. After such a long search, I celebrated the snow with rather more enthusiasm than a suited man should probably show.
There was even a Polar Bear.
I politely asked whether it might like to live in my village someday, then continued exploring the area.
### Finding an Igloo
Close to where I had landed, I found an Igloo.
Inside were a Furnace, Crafting Table, and Bed. It was a small but surprisingly comfortable shelter in the snow.
I had heard that some Igloos contained a basement, but this one did not. It was the unlucky version, though I had already seen enough new things to feel completely satisfied.
I collected a little snow and ice before leaving. I was not yet sure what I would do with the snow, but bringing home a piece of the new biome seemed appropriate.
I also searched nearby for another cold landscape, and what I found there gave me something to look forward to next time.
