Greetings.
I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft.

Standing on a snowy slope below a wooden cabin and rising smoke, with an igloo entrance at the lower left

A greeting from outside the finished mountain cabin.
A little place to sleep on a white slope, with a trail of smoke rising into the sky.
Let us go back to the preparations for the snowy journey that brings me here.

Last time, I built a dripstone lava workshop in the castle town.
Now I am leaving town and flying to snowy country with my elytra.
I am looking for an igloo, a little house made of snow.

Flying to the snow and finding a trapdoor under the carpet

Paper and three gunpowder on a crafting table, with a Flight Duration 3 tooltip over the firework rockets

First, I turn paper and gunpowder into rockets at a crafting table in town.
These are for flying.
I enjoy watching fireworks at night, but having them help with a journey is rather handy, too.

A rear view of me gliding above the clouds with my elytra spread

With my elytra on, I fly west.
White clouds stretch into the distance below my wings.
The view opens up in quite a different way from walking, making it tempting to go farther.

Holding a rocket while looking through a gap in the clouds at snow-covered spruce trees below

Through a gap in the clouds, I begin to see a snowy forest.
Oh, it is a white world down there!
Even the spruce trees wear snow, a very different sight from the castle town.

Standing at the foot of a stepped snowy slope in diamond armor with my elytra on

I land at the foot of a slope, facing steps of snow.
Dusk is getting close, so I cannot spend all my time admiring the view.
Time to make my way up.

A red bed, a crafting table and white carpet inside a dim igloo

By the time I enter an igloo farther up the slope, it is night outside.
There is a red bed, a crafting table and white carpet underfoot.
Finding a few everyday comforts inside a snow house is reassuring.

A wooden trapdoor exposed by lifting one piece of white carpet

I lift a piece of carpet and… what is this?
A wooden trapdoor is hidden in the floor.
I open it and follow the ladder down.

A golden apple and a Potion of Weakness in the basement

Two iron-barred cells and a sign with arrows in a torch-lit stone-brick basement

I descend into the dark and place torches, revealing a stone-brick room.
At the back are two small cells behind iron bars, with a villager on the left and a green face on the right.
The arrows on the sign between them look rather suggestive…

A basement chest containing a golden apple, gold nuggets and rotten flesh, with the Golden Apple tooltip visible

I open the chest and find a golden apple.
Well, that is a welcome discovery.
I take it out.

A Splash Potion of Weakness in a brewing stand, with its effect tooltip visible

The brewing stand holds a Splash Potion of Weakness as well.
A golden apple and this bottle.
The tools for treating the zombie villager are here in the same basement.

A green-skinned zombie villager standing behind the bars of the right-hand cell

With those items ready, I take another look at the right-hand cell.
Yes, that is a zombie villager behind the bars.
I would like to help our green-faced neighbor.

Minecraft’s official article about golden apples describes curing a zombie villager by applying Weakness and using an unenchanted golden apple.
I try the two items I have found here.

The zombie villager behind iron bars, with my own Weakness effect icon at the top right

First, I throw the Potion of Weakness.
But… the bottle breaks against the bars, and I get Weakness as well. Heh.
That icon at the top right is the effect on me.

Swirling particles around the zombie villager, with the golden apple's inventory slot now empty

Next, I give the golden apple, and swirls appear around the zombie villager.
The apple is gone from my inventory, leaving a little time to wait.
Will this bring our villager back?

The zombie villager still has green skin in the cell to the right of the arrow sign

I watch for a while, but the face is still green.
It seems the change is not immediate.
I step back from the bars and wait a little longer.

A brown-robed villager with no green skin standing in the right-hand cell

After a few minutes… oh, there is our villager!
The green face has become a familiar villager face.
The villager has no profession yet.

One villager in each of the two iron-barred cells, with only part of the right-hand villager's face visible

Now there are two villagers in the neighboring cells.
Quite an encounter to find beneath the snow.
I leave the torchlight behind and return to the surface, with both villagers staying in the basement.

Leaving a little cabin in the snow before flying home

A red bed and chest inside a wooden cabin, with a snowy slope visible through the window

Morning arrives while I am underground; back on the surface, I close the trapdoor and replace the carpet.
Then I build a small cabin beside the igloo, with a red bed and a chest inside.
A sleeping spot with a view of the snow is rather pleasant.

I also put a campfire smoke signal beside the cabin as a landmark.
It is evening again by the time the cabin is ready, so I spend the night in its bed.
The opening picture shows the cabin and smoke the following morning.

The igloo entrance the following morning, showing white carpet inside and part of the cabin at the upper right

The next morning, I take another look at the igloo entrance.
The white carpet I put back is visible inside.
Knowing there are two villagers below gives this little doorway a different feel.

Flying above the clouds with my elytra spread on the return journey to the castle town

I craft rockets for the return trip at the igloo’s crafting table, then fly east to head home.
A snow house, a basement and a little bed up on the mountain.
Going farther afield gives me another place outside town to remember.

Beneath a piece of carpet, a zombie villager becomes a villager again.
When I return to snowy country, I will want to look for that cabin and its smoke.
There is room to enjoy both everyday life in town and these little detours.

That is all for this time.
Greetings.
