Greetings.
I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft.

After spending time exploring the Nether, I began developing the village base.

Last time, I built a storage room so the resources from caves and the Nether would be easier to manage.

This time, I am continuing that base development.

Beside the storage room, I will build a place for an enchanting table.

An enchanting shrine.

For now, let us call it a shrine in progress.

Enchanting Is Needed to Aim Higher

The storage room from last time may have been a box-shaped building, but it became much easier to use once I added item frames to the chests.

Now that the base is becoming more organized, I have started wanting stronger tools and equipment.

In Minecraft, that means enchanting.

Better tools can gather resources more efficiently.
Better weapons and armor can help when stronger enemies appear.

The suited man is still a man.
Sometimes he wishes to aim a little higher.

So I decided to place an enchanting table.

Building a Shrine with Nether Brick

An enchanting table is used when improving tools, weapons, and armor.

Because of that, I wanted the place around it to feel a little special.

During the Nether fortress exploration, I had collected Nether brick.
So I used that Nether brick to build something shrine-like.

There are still many parts I could improve, so this is the enchanting shrine, provisional edition.

Nether brick gives it a slightly ominous atmosphere.
That red-purple color from the Nether is rather nice, personally.

When using an enchanting table, bookshelves around it can strengthen the enchantments.

To reach the maximum effect, fifteen bookshelves are needed.

One bookshelf needs three books and six planks.
One book needs leather and paper.
Paper needs sugar cane.

When starting from nothing, that is quite a lot of preparation.

Sometimes villages have bookshelves, so finding books that way may make things easier.

The enchanting table itself also requires valuable materials: two diamonds, four obsidian, and one book.

It is not cheap.

But once it is built, experience levels can be used to add wonderful effects to tools.

There is romance in that.

For now, the shrine is ready.
The suited man has taken one more step toward stronger equipment.

That is all for this time.
Greetings.
