Greetings.
I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft.
Lately, I have been spending a lot of time in the Nether.
It is frightening, of course. There are monsters, lava, and many things that can go wrong.
Still, that danger is part of what makes it exciting.
The place I use most often in the Nether is the blaze spawner room I made in the fortress.
It is useful for gathering experience and blaze rods, but there is one problem.
It is a little far away.
So this time, I decided to lay rails from the Nether portal to the blaze spawner room.
If I can ride a minecart through the fortress, the trip should feel much better.
Making the Nether More Convenient
Last time, I started making a small village in the Nether to soften the atmosphere a little.
Villagers and animals came through the portal, and just hearing their voices made the Nether feel a bit less lonely.

This time, I am moving from atmosphere to convenience.
The goal is simple: make the path to the blaze spawner room easier.
Laying Rails Through the Nether Fortress
I began near the Nether portal and started placing rails toward the fortress.

The fortress itself is only about ten seconds away on foot.
The blaze spawner room, however, is deeper inside.
That means I need quite a lot of rails.

The Nether is not exactly a friendly place for construction.
I had to break netherrack while checking my direction, and netherrack breaks very quickly.
With an enchanted pickaxe, it broke almost too quickly.
And then lava suddenly flowed out.

Yes.
I lost everything.
The rails, the tools, the things I was carrying.
All gone.
That hurt.
But I like cave exploration, so I still had enough iron back home to make more rails.
After wiping away the tears, I started again.
Eventually, I reached the fortress and broke through the Nether brick so the rails could continue inside.

Once inside the fortress, I used the existing corridors.
Rails down the middle of a Nether fortress hallway.
That looks rather good, actually.
Riding through it in a minecart feels surprisingly pleasant.

Near the blaze spawner room, the ceiling was open.
Ghasts are not the sort of neighbors I want while getting out of a minecart, so I covered the area.
I used glass because I still wanted to see outside.

And with that, the Nether railway was complete.
Getting to the blaze spawner room is much easier now.
One day, I would like to build a proper station too.
That is all for this time.
Greetings.
