I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft.
The railway and the experience trap have made one thing clear: it is time to face the Ender Dragon. Before that, however, I need to get my gear in order.
Enchanting the equipment
I used the experience I had collected and traded with villagers for helpful enchantments. My diamond sword, Kensan, received Sharpness V, while my diamond armor was prepared with protection and Feather Falling. It feels much more dependable than going in with plain equipment.
Brewing a few important potions
I also began brewing. In this Minecraft PE-era preparation, Nether Wart made awkward potions, Blaze Powder led to strength potions, and glistering melon was used for healing. Glowstone made the effects stronger.
Supplies for a frightening place
Torches, steak, dirt, glass bottles for dragon breath, ladders, a water bucket, and Ender Pearls all went into my inventory. It is a lot to carry, but the End is not somewhere I want to visit unprepared.
I slept beside the portal, activated it, and stepped through. The achievement appeared: “The End?” The dragon’s health bar was waiting overhead.
The real challenge begins next time.
