Greetings.
I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft.
Experience was important for enchanting equipment and using Mending. Naturally, I wanted a simple way to collect more of it.
My idea this time was a mob farm high in the sky.
A new source of experience
In the previous episode, I took my first flights with the Elytra.
With the Elytra, I wanted to travel farther and attempt more difficult adventures. Better enchanted equipment would help, and that meant I needed experience.
I had already built an experience farm using neighboring Zombie and Skeleton spawners. A sky mob farm sounded useful for another reason: Creepers might provide gunpowder along with the experience.
Building the sky mob farm

I started above the clouds, hoping monsters would spawn in the farm instead of on the ground below.

Based on the information I had at the time, I built the waiting area more than 128 blocks above the ground and planned the spawning floor farther above it.

I placed the spawning floor 24 blocks above the waiting area. Cross-shaped water channels were meant to carry monsters toward a hole in the center.

I made three spawning floors, hoping more floors would mean more monsters.

The roof and other surfaces were covered with torches so monsters would appear only inside the dark floors.

From below, it looked enormous. I used glass around the drop shaft so I could watch monsters falling.

At the bottom, I installed hoppers and a chest to collect the dropped items. All that remained was removing the torches from the spawning floors and waiting.

I waited. Nothing fell.
I changed the waiting position and waited again. Not a single monster appeared.
After looking into it, I concluded at the time that this type of sky mob farm would not work in Minecraft PE. It had taken a great deal of effort, and now another enormous failed structure remained in the world.
The suited man was very disappointed.
That is all for this time.
Greetings.
