Greetings.
I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
In this new world, I have already found three villages near the starting area.
One of them will become my base, but there is a lot to do before I can feel comfortable there. Most importantly, I need to make the village safer for the villagers.
For that, I need torches.
And for torches, I need coal.
So this time, I head into my first cave of Season 2. I only wanted coal and iron, but at the end of the cave I found something much bigger.
A mineshaft.
Making the base village safer
Last time, I chose a village to use as my base and brought supplies back from the zombie village.
Now I want to make the village easier and safer to live in.
The thing worrying me most is safety.
The village still is not well lit, so once night comes, the villagers may be in danger.
I started by cutting trees around the village. The wood would become sticks, and the clearing would also make the area easier to use.
The other ingredient I needed was coal.
So it was time for my first cave exploration in this world.
First cave exploration in Season 2
I was nervous.
I did not have many materials yet, so some of my tools were still wooden. Even so, I prepared what I could before entering the cave.
Caves are frightening places, after all.
The cave was right under the village.
Exploring it would also help me light up the area below the base.
Soon after entering, I found coal.
Coal is one of those items that you end up needing constantly in Minecraft. Finding it early was a relief.
I also found iron ore.
Iron is just as important, so I mined what I could.
Monsters appeared from time to time, which kept me nervous.
Still, the coal was gathering steadily.
By the time I had collected enough coal and iron, my pickaxe was wearing down. I was thinking about returning to the village.
Then I saw something strange.
Rails beneath the village
A rail.
Wait. Does that mean…?
When I looked down, I could see wood and more rails.
That is definitely a mineshaft.
I had been hearing sounds that reminded me of a minecart passing through the cave, and perhaps this was the reason.
With my current equipment, I was not ready to explore a mineshaft properly. For now, I will return to the village, improve the base, and come back when I am better prepared.
Still, three villages and now a mineshaft under the base. This world continues to feel very promising.
