Greetings.
I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
There was one biome I desperately wanted to visit: the deep dark.
I had heard that it formed underground, covered in blocks called sculk.
It was also home to the Warden, said to be the most terrifying hostile mob of all.
Naturally, I wanted an audience with such a fearsome creature.
After what happened, I regretted that curiosity completely.
Searching caves for the deep dark
I had recently been exploring caves in search of unfamiliar biomes.
The previous expedition led me into my first lush cave.
The deep dark was the place I had truly been hoping to find, but it remained elusive.
After learning that it often formed beneath tall mountains, I began by flying in search of one.

Instead, I first discovered a mushroom island.

Such places never appeared when I actively searched for them, yet here one was when I wanted something else.

Eventually, I found a mountain.
Perhaps the deep dark was waiting underneath it.

I followed the cave deeper and deeper.

Sculk veins appeared on the blocks.
It looked as though I had entered the deep dark.

I had found it, but this patch was tiny.
It was not enough to satisfy me.
### Finding the Warden, then dying twice
I moved on to a cave beneath another mountain.

The cavern was broad, so I explored every direction in search of more sculk.

At last, I found a large deep-dark biome.
Its ominous atmosphere made my heart race.

I drank a Potion of Night Vision and began exploring.
I knew that walking could trigger sculk sensors and that repeated shrieks could summon the Warden, so I dug a side tunnel and placed a bed inside as a temporary shelter.

A sculk shrieker activated, and the darkness effect swallowed the cave.
I waited at the shelter entrance because I still wanted to see the Warden.

I could barely make it out, but the Warden came toward me.
Terrified, I retreated into the tunnel.

Then I died.
I had not known that the Warden’s sonic attack could pass through blocks.
I had heard it was powerful, but it defeated me with shocking ease.
Worse still, I had forgotten to set my respawn point at the temporary bed.
I returned all the way to the original spawn point.
After reaching the base village and equipping whatever I could find, I went back to recover my gear.

That attempt failed too.
I eventually reached the shelter after further attempts, but it was already too late.
The dropped items had disappeared.

It was my first complete loss in a long while.
My Netherite equipment and all my best items were gone.
I had approached the Warden far too casually simply because I wanted to see it.
Now I had to start again by rebuilding my equipment.
I would need another elytra as well.
That is all for this time.
Greetings.
