Greetings.
I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft.

Holding a rocket in front of the stone launch platform and its lanterns in Bojōen the following morning

A greeting from the launch platform the following morning, before we go back to the beginning.
This time, the castle town is having a fireworks display!
Let us look back at the preparations and the night when this quiet platform sends fireworks into the sky.

Last time, I rode a strider across a Nether inlet and back.
Now the setting is the castle town I have been building little by little.
I want to see its familiar keep and Great Bridge with fireworks above them.

Gathering materials and preparing two launch platforms

A cleric's trading screen showing rotten flesh, emerald, and redstone trades

First, I trade with the town’s cleric for redstone to use in the circuits.
It is rather amusing that preparations for a fireworks display begin with a little shopping with a villager.

The gunpowder comes from chests in town and the underground workshop; I gather sugar cane for paper and colour ingredients in town as well.
For the red and yellow I still need, I use poppies and dandelions picked on the edge of town.
Just looking at the materials makes me wonder what colours will open in the night sky.

Cobblestone and wooden planks in a furnace as stone starts smelting

I put cobblestone and planks into the furnace and start smelting stone for the repeaters.
Fireworks may be dazzling, but there is some very ordinary preparation before the show. Heh.

Completed firework rockets filling the inventory beneath an empty crafting grid

Once the rockets are made, my inventory looks wonderfully busy.
There are 45 in all, with different combinations of colours, shapes, and flight durations.
With this many lined up, it really starts to feel like I am getting ready for a festival.

Minecraft’s official article about paper also describes adding a firework star to paper and gunpowder.
Paper can become maps and books, but today it is heading into the sky.

The stone launch platform beside Bojōen's pond, with two lanterns and a row of launcher openings

Here is the launch platform beside the pond in Bojōen, the castle-viewing garden.
I arrange four upward-facing dispensers in the stone platform and add two lanterns.
Making it fit into the daytime garden gives me something pleasant to look at while I wait for night.

The other venue has three dispensers on the north bank beside the Great Bridge.
A circuit using torches and repeaters lets the dispensers at each venue launch together, repeatedly.
Now, how will it look after dark?

Fireworks over the keep, then over the Great Bridge

White particles spreading across the night sky above a rising trail, with a diamond sword at the right

When night comes, I start the garden’s launch platform and look straight up from nearby.
A white trail rises and scatters into light above my head.
Oh, up they go!

Red and blue fireworks opening directly above the castle keep, with a white trail rising below

From the viewing hill, red and blue fireworks open directly above the keep.
The familiar castle suddenly looks ready for a festival.
It is lovely to see the town I have built a little at a time in a scene like this.

Yellow star-shaped fireworks with blue and red bursts over the Great Bridge, seen from the Japanese-style boat

Next, I start the display by the Great Bridge and watch from the Japanese-style boat.
Yellow stars, blue, and red overlap above the bridge. This venue is lively too!
It feels like a riverside festival, with a different view from the fireworks over the keep.

A few rockets by hand, then a morning look at the materials and platforms

A small yellow firework and white particles overhead, with a rocket held at the right

After enjoying both venues, I launch some rockets by hand from the viewing hill.
First comes yellow.
I find myself following the little burst of colour beyond the white particles.

A large pink star-shaped firework spreading across the night sky above the rocket in hand

Then comes the pink star.
Oh, the shape is easy to see in this one!
Being able to change the shape as well as the colour makes me want to see another.

A small blue firework among white particles in the night sky, with a rocket held at the right

I send up a blue one too and watch the sky.
I launch four rockets by hand in all, leaving five.
Watching from a distance and sending them up myself are both good fun.

When morning comes, the launch platform becomes a quiet part of the garden again, as in the opening picture.
While the evening is still fresh in my mind, I take another look at the materials and platforms.

After the display, gunpowder, red dye, a gold nugget, and glowstone dust in a crafting grid produce a star-shaped red twinkling firework star preview

After the display, I lay the ingredients out on the crafting table to look at a firework star combination.
Gunpowder, red dye, a gold nugget, and glowstone dust give an output description of Star-shaped, Red, and Twinkle.
I leave the output untaken and put the ingredients back.

Minecraft’s official fireworks article describes gold nuggets for stars, glowstone dust for sparkle, and diamonds for trails.
Putting diamonds into fireworks makes this quite an extravagant celebration. Heh.

The remaining pink rocket's tooltip showing Flight Duration 1, Star-shaped, and Pink

The remaining pink rocket shows Flight Duration 1, Star-shaped, and Pink.
This is one prepared for launching by hand; those loaded into the garden’s platform have a flight duration of 3, and those by the bridge have 2.
Varying that setting gives me quite a collection of fireworks before I even leave the inventory screen.

The north-bank launch platform in daylight, with three upward-facing openings, two lanterns, and the Great Bridge's arches behind

Back at the Great Bridge in daylight, three upward-facing openings sit in the north-bank platform.
This is where the fireworks I watched from the boat were coming from.
Having a little platform with lanterns beside the bridge makes me look forward to another festival.

A wooden lever and lantern on top of the north-bank stone platform, with grass beyond

There is a lever on top for stopping the launches.
On this platform, turning the lever on stops the circuit, so I leave it quiet once the show is over.
When I gather some more materials, I would like to enjoy a different combination of colours.

That is all for this time.
Greetings.
