Greetings.
I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
Last time, I explored the cave beneath the village and unexpectedly found a mineshaft.
Finding one during my very first cave trip was incredibly lucky.
Cave spiders still frighten me, but I cannot ignore a mineshaft sitting right beneath the village. This time, I am going inside.
Securing the village before entering the mineshaft
The mineshaft is directly beneath my base village. I do not want the villagers to be attacked while I am underground, so I will improve their defenses first.

I started with the obvious solution: a fence around the village.

The area is fairly large, so this quiet job took a surprising amount of time and wood.

Next came the torches. By this point, I had used up both my wood and the coal gathered during the previous cave trip.
It took a while, but the village now felt much safer. At last, I could head for the mineshaft.
Into the mineshaft beneath the village

Here we are. This is the first mineshaft I have found in this world, and my equipment is still rather poor. I am nervous.

I moved deeper inside while using water to collect the rails. At this early stage, rails are valuable materials worth bringing home.

The mineshaft was surprisingly quiet. I had not seen any cave spiders yet.

Oh, what is this…?
A minecart chest!

Mineshaft chests are not always spectacular, but this early in the world even a modest haul makes me happy.

Before long, I found another one.

A name tag. Very nice!

It had been a long time since I last explored a mineshaft. Seeing these passages again reminded me just how enormous they can be.

There was plenty of coal too, which was exactly what I needed at this stage.

A zombie suddenly dropped from above, but compared with what I had feared, the mineshaft remained fairly peaceful. Still no cave spiders.

Then I found my first gold ore in this world. While digging around it, a minecart chest appeared from inside the ground.
Was this a bug? I had seen minecarts caught in walls before, but never one buried like this.
Between the ores and the chests, the trip was becoming very rewarding. My inventory eventually filled up, so I decided to pause the exploration here.
Next time, I will return and continue through the mineshaft.
That is all for this time.
Greetings.
