I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft.
Last time, I found a Creaking and Eyeblossoms in the Pale Garden.
Now I want to enjoy the pale oak I brought home inside the castle town.
This time, I will build a greenhouse from pale oak and glass.
This small white-wood decoration catches my eye first.
If I use the colour for a larger building, it may change the view of the town.
Assembling a greenhouse from pale wood
I choose an empty plot near the lodging and farm.
It will connect with the rest of the town while making a place to look at flowers.
First I lay a nine-by-thirteen stone-brick foundation.
Once the square floor is in place, the size of the building becomes clear.
Next come pale oak posts and beams.
The light wood looks especially bright among the castle town’s dark roofs.
I fit glass between the frame and cover the roof with glass too.
Little by little, the far side becomes visible through a proper greenhouse shape.
With double doors on the south side, the outside is complete.
Stone brick below, pale walls, and glass above fit the town better than I expected.
Planting Eyeblossoms in the greenhouse
Inside, I leave a path down the middle and plant pale moss and Eyeblossoms on both sides.
During the day, the Eyeblossoms sit quietly with their petals closed.
I add a bench and a composter at the far end, with lanterns hanging above.
The glass roof shows the sky, keeping the room bright by day and ready for lantern light at night.
I also place a small resin decoration by the entrance.
Its orange colour makes a pleasant accent among the pale oak.
The flowers open at night
When night comes, the Eyeblossoms open orange.
The same greenhouse suddenly feels quite different.
All sixteen planted flowers open, leaving little orange points across the white room.
From outside, lantern light and flower colour shine through the glass.
The bright daytime greenhouse is lovely, but its night-time face is beautiful too.
From a little farther away, the white greenhouse joins the lodging and houses.
The pale wood that felt frightening in the Pale Garden has become a gentle place for flowers.
It is satisfying not only to bring home new materials, but to give them a place in the town’s scenery.
I look forward to seeing this greenhouse every time I walk through the castle town.
