Greetings.
I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft.
With the Ocean Monument exploration complete, I began thinking about my next adventure.
The first idea that came to mind was a search for rare biomes. I had never seen a Mesa, Ice Plains, or Mushroom Island, and a journey to find them sounded appealing.
For this episode, I would travel to the edges of the map containing my village and create new maps there. Together, they would form one much larger mapped area.
Preparing maps for a rare-biome journey
The Ocean Monument had been enjoyable, but finishing a major goal always leaves me feeling slightly empty.
I returned to the village and almost immediately began preparing another journey.
A Mesa was especially tempting. Its abundant Terracotta could be useful for many future building projects.

I began by creating a map at the village, then planned to fly with the Elytra to each corner and create a new map there.
### Connecting new maps by Elytra

First, I flew southwest from the village.

At the edge, I created another map.

By repeating this at each corner, I could connect new maps to the one containing my village.

Next, I flew northwest.

There, I created another map. The process was simple: fly to a corner, make a map, and continue.

In the end, I had prepared empty maps in all four directions.
Next time, the real journey would begin. I would fill these maps while searching for rare biomes.
That is all for this time.
Greetings.
