Greetings.
I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
Moving house and other matters in the real world kept me away from Minecraft for more than a year. Many updates had arrived while I was gone.
Before chasing every new feature, I first needed to remember what I had been doing. This time, I would look around the old world and slowly relearn how to play.
Returning to a world I could barely remember
The last published adventure ended after raids on a Nether fortress and a bastion remnant.
The world update expanded the building limits both upward and downward. Even before entering, Minecraft asked whether I wanted to update the world. Many things had clearly changed.

I opened the world and immediately wondered where I was. Ah, yes. This was the sky city I had been building.
I had continued playing after the last published episode. I defeated the Ender Dragon, found an elytra, and started this city without ever turning those adventures into articles.

There were finished rooms too. I had stopped here when real life became busy.

I had even brought villagers all the way up. Looking at them now, it felt rather like an abduction.
At the time, this was close to the height limit. With the new limit extending much higher, the city could someday grow farther into the sky.

This was the farm I had built for gunpowder. My memories gradually returned.

It still worked after a year. What a relief.

I flew down with the elytra, although I had almost forgotten how to use it.

The very long elevator had taken considerable effort to build. It was good to see it again.

Back at the main village, I noticed how little building I had done there. This was already the third OjiCra world, yet the village remained quite plain.
I had worked hard on librarian trades, though. Mending, Efficiency V, and other useful books were still available, and the villagers seemed to have survived my absence.
### A serious coal shortage sends me into a cave
The storage room contained no coal at all. Perhaps I had stored it somewhere else, but after a year I could not remember.

There was only one answer: a cave expedition.

My movement still felt awkward, and even flying had been difficult. The goal was simple: collect coal and return without dying.

A monster spawner appeared almost immediately. Meeting hostile mobs again made my heart race.

The cave opened into a ravine. I followed the mood of the adventure and kept descending. I have always enjoyed cave exploration, and before long I was having fun again.

There was plenty of coal. I collected the ore with Silk Touch so I could later break it with a Fortune III pickaxe.

Diamonds were welcome too. Their texture looked different from what I remembered.

Then I found a second spawner. Even drawing a bow felt strange after the long break.

I finished the cave expedition and returned safely. Breaking the ore with Fortune III was as satisfying as ever.

I was surprised by how high the blocks could be stacked, until I remembered the expanded height limit. Perhaps Minecraft will reach space someday.
I returned with enough coal and iron to avoid another mining trip for quite a while.
From here, I will continue little by little. Being surprised by almost everything again is rather enjoyable.
That is all for this time.
Greetings.
