Greetings.
I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
The Minecraft world had changed considerably during my year away.
New biomes and other unfamiliar sights left me feeling as though I had awakened in another age.
I wanted to discover those additions one by one.
My first destination was a cave, where I finally found the amethyst I had been hoping to see.
Exploring caves in search of something new
After returning to Minecraft, I had spent my time making the village more convenient.
The automatic furnace and sorting warehouse were now connected, but this episode would be an expedition.

I gathered my equipment and set out from the village.
### My first cave expedition in more than a year
It had been more than a year since my last cave expedition.
The uncertainty of what might be waiting underground was exactly what made it exciting.

I entered a likely-looking opening and searched for a route that continued deeper.

Hostile mobs greeted me almost immediately.
I had missed this tense feeling.

Before long, I found a cave that appeared to lead deep below the surface.

It had been a while since I had seen diamonds.
I mined as I continued downward.

The route carried me into a lava-filled area.

When I could not find another opening leading down, I decided to dig one myself.

The tunnel broke into a vast cavern.
Negative Y levels still felt unfamiliar, which made the descent even more thrilling.

Plenty of hostile mobs appeared from the dark open space.

As I admired the shape of the cavern, I noticed a faint purple glow.
Could it be?

It was an amethyst geode.
I had wanted to see one for so long, and it was beautiful.

I decided to take some of the amethyst home.
The delicate sounds made the chamber a wonderful place to stand.

I used a Silk Touch pickaxe to collect an amethyst cluster.

Apart from the block that produced the crystals and could not be collected, I took most of the geode home.

Back in the village, I placed the amethyst in the automatic sorting warehouse.
It had been a thoroughly enjoyable expedition.
There were still many unfamiliar things waiting in the caves, so I intended to keep exploring.
That is all for this time.
Greetings.
