Greetings.
I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft.
Last time, I found coal near the village and lit the road with torches.
This time, I want to look for iron.
Not far away.
Not recklessly deep.
Somewhere close enough that I might be able to return alive.
That last part is important.
Finding iron is exciting, but carrying it back matters even more.

Morning in the village.
Standing in front of the house makes it feel like I am finally leaving from home.
That is a nice feeling.
Food Before Mining
Before going down, I check food.

Standing by the carrot field, I can feel that I live here now.
The village helps.
Food nearby helps.
Minecraft villages are wonderful, especially for a suited man who keeps getting into trouble.
I do not want to waste that support.
If I go mining hungry, that is not adventure.
That is simply poor planning.
Coal Under the Village, and a Lit Route
I head toward the lower place near the village with a stone pickaxe.

Coal ore.
Stone pickaxe.
This looks more like Minecraft mining than anything I have done so far.
I move closer.

It is dark.
Very dark.
This is exactly why I need torches.
Without light, I cannot even understand the place safely.
I place a torch and make the route easier to see.

The moment a torch appears, the feeling changes.
That small fire is incredibly reassuring.
It tells me, "You can come back this way."
At least, I hope I can.
A mining route should be something I can recognize even while nervous.
For me, that means torches and very simple landmarks.
I Finally Found Iron Ore
Then I see it.

It is a little hard to see, but there is iron ore in the wall.
Finally.
Iron.
This is not an iron ingot yet.
It is not armor.
It is not a bucket.
But finding iron ore for the first time is still a major moment.
I take a breath and reset my feelings near the village.

The village house is there.
That helps me remember the goal.
I am not just digging for the sake of digging.
I want to bring resources back to this home.
Then, in the mining spot, I reach the iron.

Raw iron in hand.
This is big.
For the first time, iron is not just something I see.
It is something I have touched.
I want to be clear about that.
This is not yet an iron tool.
This is not yet a finished success.
It is the first contact with iron.
However, the job is not finished.
I have not turned it into an ingot.
I have not safely brought everything back and smelted it.
The route home is still a serious problem.
Today, I reached iron.
Next time, I want to bring iron home and make it useful.
The village is close, but the path is still frightening.
That is the next challenge.
That is all for this time.
Greetings.
