Greetings.
I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft.

Last time, I built a fishing pond in the castle town, caught the missing nautilus shells, and finished crafting a conduit.

The little sea device is complete, but activating it has had to wait.
This time, I take it to an ocean monument to get it working at last.
Of course, things rarely go quite that smoothly for this suited man…

Back to the sea with a conduit

Standing on the shore at night with a sword, a totem, and a conduit in the hotbar

From the shore, I look out over the dark sea.
I have a sword and a totem in my hands, and the conduit from last time among my supplies.
It is a small thing, but I would like to give it a chance to do something.

According to Minecraft’s official introduction to the conduit, simply placing it is not enough: it needs a prismarine activation frame.
The article describes Conduit Power as an effect that helps with activities underwater.

For this attempt, I decide to use the ocean monument’s existing structure rather than build a large new frame.
Will the sea device I crafted last time finally get to work inside the monument?

The ocean monument is still unforgiving

The You Died screen from one of the deaths during this play session

But… there are the words "You Died!"
Down I go again… (tears)
This is one of the death screens from this attempt.

Between the journey and the work, I die twice this time.
Having a conduit in my supplies does not make the dangers of the sea disappear.
Before the conduit can get going, its owner comes to a rather abrupt stop.

I start again and continue placing the conduit inside the monument.
For now, the aim is simply to get this device working.
This is not a story about clearing the monument.

The conduit opens inside the monument!

The open conduit inside the monument, with status-effect icons and a full air meter visible

Oh! The conduit has opened!
Up close, I can see the eye-like part inside it too.
It looks quite different from the little object sitting in my inventory.

The Conduit Power icon also appears at the top right of the screen.
In this photograph, the air meter is full as well.
At last, I reach the point where the device I placed is working.

There are other effect icons on the screen, though.
This is not a comparison showing that all the brightness or the air meter’s condition comes from the conduit alone.
Mining Fatigue is still present, so this does not suddenly make everything easy.

A wider view of the monument room and the activated conduit beside the wall

From a little farther away, I can see how the conduit sits within the room.
One small device inside a much larger structure.
This time, I manage to activate it using this monument’s structure.

That does not mean placing it the same way will work in every monument.
Nor does it make the whole place safe. There is still plenty of reason to be careful here.

Instead of returning home, I finish this session inside the monument.
I leave the conduit installed and active here.
The sea device from last time has finally made it out of my inventory.

Next, I would like to think about how to move around this place without pushing my luck.
It seems my dealings with the ocean monument are far from over.

That is all for this time.
Greetings.
