I am an uncle who fell into the world of Minecraft.
This time, I load building materials into a Boat with Chest and fly them with Shiro, my Happy Ghast.
One Lead turns into what looks like four lines in the air, which is a wonderfully strange sight.
Prepare the cargo and the Lead
You need a harnessed Happy Ghast, a Boat with Chest, a Lead, and Shears for disconnecting it.
The harness and riding steps live in my separate Happy Ghast riding memo.
For this flight, I load 64 cobblestone, 32 tuff bricks, and 16 oak logs into the Boat with Chest.
With the cargo inside, I use the Lead beside the boat.
First, attach the Lead to the Boat with Chest.
Then hold that Lead and sneak-interact with the harnessed Happy Ghast.

I use one Lead, but the boat displays as though it hangs from four lines at its corners.
The pilot rides the Happy Ghast.
You cannot ride in the suspended Boat with Chest, so it helps to keep those two roles separate.
Once I rise into the air, the Boat with Chest follows below Shiro.
Minecraft’s Java Edition notes that using a Firework Rocket while carrying a suspended load breaks the connection, so I do not use one during this flight.
Check the cargo after landing, then disconnect
After landing, I open the chest first and check the contents.
On this particular flight, all 64 cobblestone, 32 tuff bricks, and 16 oak logs remain inside.
Once the contents are confirmed, I take out the materials.

To disconnect, I use the Shears described by Minecraft’s official guidance.
I do not try to board the suspended boat, and I choose a landing area with room to tidy up calmly.
