I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
At last, it is time to explore the Nether.
This was my first visit since the update that added new Nether biomes. The trip began in a basalt delta, continued through a crimson forest and a soul sand valley, and ended with the discovery of a fortress.
There was also a lava dive along the way.
Entering the Nether for the first time in this world
Those trades were preparation for this moment. I was finally ready for the first Nether adventure of Season 2.
The Nether had apparently changed considerably in the update. I had been away from Minecraft for a while, so everything beyond the portal would be new to me.
Basalt delta, crimson forest, soul sand valley, and a fortress
It was time to go.
Even walking through a Nether portal felt unfamiliar after so long. I was excited and nervous.
I arrived, took one step forward, and immediately panicked. There was only one block of ground beneath me, with lava below. What a terrible place for a portal.
Magma cubes were already making noise nearby. I needed to protect the portal quickly, so I began enclosing it with blocks.
After looking around, I learned that this was a basalt delta. It seemed I had arrived in a particularly harsh biome.
It was frightening.
Lava began flowing through a very inconvenient place. While I wondered how to stop it, something attacked from behind.
I was trapped between a magma cube and the lava. When I tried to escape…
I fell straight in and died.
After all that, I managed to enclose the portal. With a safe return point established, I could finally explore the surrounding area.
The basalt delta was full of magma cubes and scattered lava. It was a dangerous and unpleasant place, although gathering magma cream was at least easy.
Once I became a little more comfortable in the Nether, I travelled farther and reached a crimson forest. Its deep red scenery was beautiful.
Next came a soul sand valley, where I also found fossils made from bone blocks.
After exploring for a while, I saw exactly what I had hoped to find: a Nether fortress.
I stepped inside only briefly and found a blaze spawner almost at once. The full fortress exploration would wait until next time, but I collected a few blaze rods before leaving.
