Greetings.
I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft.

Today, I head to the End to build somewhere I can repair my elytra with XP from Endermen.
Here I am about to leave town.
First, let’s look back at the preparations.
Last time, I took a frog to the Nether and built froglight stone lanterns by the pond.
Today’s companions are rather taller…
Worn elytra, and a new building in the End

The elytra’s durability bar is looking very short.
I added Mending while visiting the woodland mansion, but all this flying keeps wearing it down.
It’s time to collect some XP and give those wings a rest.

At the anvil, I name a tag “えんま”—Enma.
It’s for the little Endermite that will draw in our Endermen.
A rather grand name for such a tiny creature!

I buy extra ender pearls from the cleric.
We’ll be throwing pearls until an Endermite appears, so I’d like a supply ready.

A pumpkin has grown by the pond.
I carve it to wear in the End, then pack a boat and glass as well.
This is starting to feel like moving house.

With everything ready, I fly from town to the stronghold’s forward base.
I’d really like to come home with these worn wings repaired.

Through the portal, and back into the End.
I wear the pumpkin to avoid meeting any eyes, but… it doesn’t leave much of a view.
The obsidian pillars are just visible ahead.

Let’s build on this raised patch of the island.
Pale end stone underfoot, Endermen all around.
It feels rather less relaxing than building back in town.

I raise four corner pillars of end stone bricks.
The lure will sit above, with a place below to reach the Endermen’s feet.
Even during construction, having one wander past makes me nervous.

An underground pit, a passage, and a windowed hut take shape.
I call the building Enmado—Enma’s hall.
The building is ready, but its little resident isn’t here yet.
This time, an Endermite appears on the eighth pearl throw.
It goes into the boat, and I use the tag to name it Enma.
A big job for such a small body.
Minecraft’s official Endermite article describes using a name tag to prevent despawning and drawing in Endermen that try to attack it.
Their example uses a minecart; my Enmado uses a boat.
Endermen at the window, and XP through a gap

I look through the window…
They’re gathering!
All those black legs make quite a crowd beyond the glass.

Down in the pit, feet are visible through the gap.
These towering creatures look rather different from down here.
I take out my sword and turn toward them.

I swing at their feet, and XP comes my way.
Let’s work through the waiting crowd, little by little.
At last, the repair work begins.

I use the sword for two five-minute sessions, with a rest in between.
The pearls in my inventory have increased quite a bit.
The XP is welcome, but what I’m really interested in is the wings.

I open the inventory, and that short elytra bar is gone.
Repaired!
The chestplate, leggings, boots, and sword are repaired too—what a relief.

From outside, the pillars are still surrounded.
Some pearls remain on the ground, too.
Little Enma certainly knows how to draw a crowd.

A picture beside Enmado.
I now have somewhere beyond town to come for repairs.
Though with that crowd behind me, it’s hardly a leisurely portrait!

Back at the exit portal, I look toward Enmado.
Repaired equipment is no reason to stop paying attention on the way back.

I spread my wings for the flight home.
After the dark End, the blue sky feels rather comforting.

Back on the familiar roof at last.
Having somewhere to repair these wings should help me keep flying.
I’d like to improve the route from Enmado to the portal, too.
Back the same day to see Enma and add a corridor

After returning to town, I head back to the End later the same day.
A closer look into the boat reveals a tiny purple body.
You’re still here, Enma.

I add a walled, roofed corridor from the underground passage toward the portal.
From outside, its brick wall is right in front of me.
The way back becomes part of the building, rather than just a walk outside.

Inside, the portal is visible beyond the steps.
After using Enmado once more, I take this route back to the portal this time.
Even with the corridor, I still need care in the hut and at the junction.
Such tall Endermen gathering around such a little Enma.
I’d like to keep using this hall for repairs, and keep those wings going for a long time.
With a little more care on the way home, too.
That is all for this time.
Greetings.
