Greetings.
I am a man in a suit who has fallen into the world of Minecraft.

The goats we met in the snowy mountains had two impressive horns.

When a goat rams a hard block, one of those horns can drop as a Goat Horn.

There are eight variants in total.

Four can come from normal goats, while the other four are exclusive to screaming goats.

This article separates the mechanics described by official Minecraft information, the eight names used in Java Edition 1.21.11, and the results of collecting every variant in OjiCra.

You can see our first encounter with goats in the snowy mountains in OjiCra Season 3 Episode 45.

There Are Eight Goat Horn Variants

The official Wild Update release information for Minecraft Java Edition states that there are eight Goat Horn variants, with four exclusive to screaming goats.

Each variant plays its own sound, which can be heard from far away.

Goat Horns can also sometimes be found at Pillager Outposts.

The eight names confirmed in the Java Edition 1.21.11 language data are:

  • Normal goat: Ponder(沈思)
  • Normal goat: Sing(歌声)
  • Normal goat: Seek(探求)
  • Normal goat: Feel(感覚)
  • Screaming goat exclusive: Admire(称賛)
  • Screaming goat exclusive: Call(号令)
  • Screaming goat exclusive: Yearn(憧憬)
  • Screaming goat exclusive: Dream(夢想)

Their inventory icons look the same, so I checked the displayed name of each horn while collecting them.

Four Variants from Normal Goats

The four variants available from normal goats are Ponder, Sing, Seek, and Feel.

Looking at a goat up close in the snowy mountains, I could clearly see both horns on its head.

In OjiCra, I traveled across several snowy mountains and collected horns from goats through actual ramming drops.

The same variants kept appearing, and Sing was the final one missing.

Thirteen goats passed without Sing, and I finally obtained it from the 14th goat.

That was the result in this world.

It does not mean the 14th goat will always drop Sing.

The full search for these four variants is in OjiCra Season 3 Episode 46.

Four Variants Exclusive to Screaming Goats

The four variants exclusive to screaming goats are Admire, Call, Yearn, and Dream.

In OjiCra, I found one naturally spawned screaming goat in the snowy mountains.

I could not identify it easily by appearance alone.

I waited nearby and confirmed this goat through the sounds and behavior I observed during this encounter.

Starting with that one goat, I bred more goats and collected horns from actual ramming drops.

This picture shows the moment when I confirmed that all four exclusive variants were together.

It is not a picture of any particular variant dropping.

The breeding outcomes were also observations from this world.

I am not presenting them as general inheritance probabilities.

The story of finding a screaming goat and completing the exclusive set is in OjiCra Season 3 Episode 47.

How to Get a Goat Horn from a Goat’s Ram

Official Minecraft information explains that a Goat Horn drops when a goat rams a log, stone, packed ice, iron ore, copper ore, emerald ore, or another listed hard block that naturally occurs where goats spawn.

For our attempt, I prepared a packed ice wall in the snowy mountains and waited while facing the goat.

The goat lowered its head and ran toward me.

I moved sideways just before it reached me, and the goat continued toward the packed ice behind me.

The moment just after moving sideways to dodge the charging goat

These two pictures show the charging and dodging process used in this attempt.

They do not show a specific horn variant dropping.

The process I used was:

  • Prepare a goat that still has a horn and one of the hard target blocks listed by Minecraft
  • Face the goat with the target block behind you
  • Move sideways just before the charging goat reaches you
  • Check for a horn after the goat hits the target block
  • Read the horn’s displayed name in the inventory

The official page does not give the detailed probabilities or waiting times needed to target a particular variant, so I will not make those claims here.

How OjiCra Collected and Displayed All Eight

There were four variants from normal goats and four exclusive to screaming goats.

Every one of the eight in this collection came from an actual goat ramming a hard block and dropping a horn.

I built a display wall at the mountaintop air cargo station and placed one of each variant there.

The displayed order is Dream, Admire, Ponder, Sing, Seek, Call, Feel, and Yearn.

Normal goats could provide only the first group of four.

Completing all eight required the four screaming-goat-exclusive variants as well.

The final normal-goat variant did not appear until the 14th goat in my search.

The screaming-goat collection began by finding a single naturally spawned goat.

Although the horns look alike in the inventory, each one plays a different sound.

The horn hunt that began in the snowy mountains became a display preserving all eight sounds.
